You will have about 10 minutes to discuss within your group the questions outlined below. After discussing within your group, one member of your group will summarize your findings on the board and another group member will share with the class your assessment. (age, occupation, family role, etc.) Identify and discuss the stage of family life that this family is in with “your family member”. Identify the stage of family life that the other family members are in? (Gilbert, Amy, Ellen, Arnie, Mother). Think about the potential conflicts that might occur between them. (don’t need to write this out, just consider …) According to Erik Erikson, which developmental stage is your family member in? What are the developmental tasks of this stage? Is this family member successfully navigating this stage? Why or why not? If time permits, identify which Family Life Stage each member of your group is currently in.
