A criminal justice-related topic that interests me is the topic on the impact of incarceration on the family, especially the children of imprisoned individuals.

2 questions: The research questions I came up with include, Which individuals in the social care for children of incarcerated people.? As well as how do kinship and foster care influence children of incarcerated individuals?

Instructions: In this course, we have learned about identifying different unit of analyses. For this assignment, you will be developing three different types of units of analysis based around your research topic of interest. This should build on the research topic and questions you have previously developed. Follow the instructions below.

Prompt 1. In one paragraph: Provide a description of the three types of units of analysis you could use to examine your research question and/or research topic. These units must be at different levels (e.g., individual, groups, organizations, social interactions, and social artifacts) (worth 10 points).

Prompt 2. In a paragraph: Justify whether you would use one unit of analysis over the other. For example, for your research question, which unit of analysis more adequately answers your research question. Include some advantages and/or disadvantages of using these units of analysis per your research question and/or research topic (worth 10 points).
